The Neurons Impact Score has always been about one thing: giving you a clear, science-backed answer to the question every marketer asks before launch. Is this creative strong enough?
That hasn't changed. But the score just got significantly more precise.
The problem with one-size-fits-all
Until now, every creative was sorted into one of four buckets before scoring: image or video/mixed media, crossed with brand building or conversion. Same bucket, same scoring logic.
A billboard for a luxury car brand and a Facebook carousel for a fintech startup both landed in "image + conversion" and got measured the same way. Those are fundamentally different ads, in completely different contexts, with completely different rules for what good looks like.
A billboard is seen for under two seconds. First impressions are everything. A Meta ad has a CTA button built into the platform's own UI, so judging the in-creative call to action is actually misleading. The old system couldn't account for any of that.

A score that knows your ad
The updated Neurons Impact Score now reads your creative's full objective profile: purpose, industry, use case, and platform, and adjusts what it measures accordingly.
A few examples of how that plays out:
On Meta platforms, the in-creative CTA is removed from the prioritized metrics. Previously, a weak CTA on a Facebook ad could drag your score down for something that was never your job to control.
For out-of-home and social image ads, Neurons now prioritizes first-impression metrics, because these formats are typically seen for under two seconds.
For social video conversion, start and end attention metrics are weighted more heavily, because that's where conversion is actually won or lost.
Every adjustment is grounded in neuroscience research and documented reasoning - so the score is always explainable.
New benchmarks
We've also expanded the benchmark library with four new categories:
- LinkedIn - images and videos
- Hero Banners - images on mobile and desktop
- Out of Home, Out of Context - images
- CTV - mixed media
If your creative falls into any of these, it now has its own benchmark rather than being approximated against a broader group.
What this means for you
New uploads are automatically scored with the updated logic from day one. Nothing changes in how you work.
Existing creatives may show a "Update score" indicator. This means a more accurate score is ready - not that anything is wrong. You can update whenever it's useful, and Neurons will automatically refresh your insights and recommendations to match. No need to do everything at once.
